B-CHARMED will develop new acoustics methodologies enabling the characterization and mapping of Black Coral Forests (BCF), including the definition of the Minimal Conservation Unit (colonies/m²), able to preserve their ecosystem functions and services, as well as BCF environmental variables and associated ichthyofaunal biodiversity. B-CHARMED outcomes will serve to integrate BCF in the Canary Islands conservation policies, enhancing their ecosystem functions and services.
